A little know fact about the brand is that the idea came from a project to produce professional watches for the "Officine Fontana" distinguished officers of it's navy's U-boats in 1942. Some 60 years later, the designer Italio Fontana, the cousin of the original watchmaker, preserved the original drawings, materials and colors to create the U-boat name that today is know for unique and comfortable wearable timepieces.
